Would You Be Willing to Answer the Questions Facebook Ask in Real Life?
10/06/2011
The video below makes a good point regarding how much more easily people are willing to divulge personal information online compare to in face-to-face communications.
Obviously the video is intended to be funny, but it does make a good point. If somebody on the street stopped to ask you questions such as your date of birth or maiden name you probably wouldn’t answer the question; but hundreds of millions have this information available on Facebook and other social networks. Before making this information available consider the possible issues with doing this. These sorts of questions are commonly asked by banks as they are intending to prove you are who you say you are. If you do decide to make this information public; at least try to restrict it by making use of the security settings Facebook offers.
