AFFILIATE NETWORK CHALLENGE

02/04/2008

There seem to have been a large number of new affiliate networks appearing over the last 6 months, many of which have no sign up charges or monthly fees. Presumably, this is to encourage merchants to sign up to the network with no financial risk. My question is this, can any of these networks actually provide any volume of converting traffic?

CHALLENGE

I would like to lay down a challenge to any of these free to sign up networks to see if any of them can really deliver what they claim. Last year, Emase launched www.ardosiastone.co.uk, which is a site selling high quality garden furniture made from hand crafted solid Brazilian slate. This is a highly desirable luxury good, and not a ‘free iPod giveaway’ or cashback site which most free to sign up networks seem to consist of. We have been in affiliate marketing working as affiliates for a long time, but never before as a merchant.

Our challenge is as follows:
Which of the UK affiliate networks with no sign up charges can provide the largest sales value over a 3-6 month period? We are willing to pay the same commission to any network which agrees to take part in the challenge. However, the same commission paid will include the override. That is to say any network with a lower override can pay a higher commission to affiliates. I believe this will make the challenge fairer. We have yet to decide on the exact commission rate, but this will be a very competitive percentage of the sale value.

We are willing to work with any free to sign up networks that have a good reputation and are legally sound companies! We are happy to make a deposit, as long as this is refundable if you are unable to deliver.

If any networks pick up on this challenge, I will blog about how each performs during the challenge. If you are interested, please email me at the email address found on the contact us page.
